When Should You Merge PDF Files?
One document is easier to send, print, and keep than ten separate files. A PDF merger puts everything in one place, in the order you choose. Here are the most common reasons people combine PDFs:
- Applications and forms. Job, college, and visa portals often ask for a single PDF. Combine your resume, cover letter, and certificates into one file.
- School and college work. Join the pages of an assignment, a project report, and its appendix into one neat submission.
- Invoices and receipts. Put a month of bills into one PDF for your accountant or your expense report.
- Scanned documents. Phone scans often come as many small files. Add them as photos and merge them into a single document.
- Reports and proposals. Build a complete document from a cover page, the main report, and supporting files.
Tips for a Clean Merged PDF
- Check the order before you click Merge. The final PDF follows the order of the files on screen.
- Need to remove blank pages or rearrange pages inside a file first? Use the Split PDF tool, which shows every page.
- Large photos make a PDF heavy. Shrink them first with the Image Compressor.
- Give the file a clear name. A name like resume-and-certificates is easier to find than merged.
Is It Safe to Merge PDFs Online?
Many online PDF tools upload your files to a server. BixTools works differently. Your PDFs are opened and merged inside your own browser, so your documents never leave your device. We do not store, share, or read your files. That makes it a safer choice for contracts, IDs, bills, and other private papers.
Pages from your PDFs are copied exactly as they are, so text, images, and layout stay the same.

Is this PDF merger really free?
Yes. BixTools is completely free. There is no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many times you merge PDF files.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are opened and merged inside your own browser, so they never leave your device. We do not upload or store your documents.
How do I merge PDF files into one?
Add two or more PDF files, arrange them in the order you want, then click Merge PDFs. When the merged file is ready, rename it if you like and click Download.
How do I change the order of the files?
Press and drag any file to a new position. On a phone, press and hold the file for a moment, then drag it. The numbers update as you move it. The merged PDF follows that order.
Can I combine photos with PDFs?
Yes. You can add JPG, PNG, or WebP photos along with your PDFs. Each photo becomes its own page, fitted to an A4 page.
How do I remove a file from the list?
Move your mouse over a file and click the bin button that appears. On a phone, tap the file first, then tap the bin.
Can I rename the merged PDF?
Yes. Type any name in the File name box. The ending -bixtools.com.pdf is added automatically.
Can I merge password protected PDFs?
Not yet. Please remove the password first, then add the file again.
Will merging reduce the quality of my PDFs?
No. Pages from your PDFs are copied as they are, so text, images, and layout stay the same. Photos you add are fitted to an A4 page and may be slightly compressed to keep the file small.
Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?
You can add up to 100 files, with up to 150 MB per PDF and about 300 MB in total. Very large files can be slow on older phones.
